Home of the Monster MOF
Purpose:
The Monster MOF is being offered to enhance hardware inventory data without requiring
intimate knowledge of the sms_def.mof file. Our MOF Master expertly crafted the
SMS 2003 SP 2 Monster MOF for the SMS community. Many new classes are added to the
SMS 2003 Monster MOF to further enhance inventory capabilities.
Any issues with the MOF should be reported to MOF@smsexpert.com.
However, MOF Support by SCCM Expert is limited. We recommend using the MYITFORUM
support forums to leverage community intelligence.
If you have additional MOF classes you want to share with the community please e-mail
them to
MOF@smsexpert.com. Any MOF edits contributed submitted will be given
the proper credit.
Using the monster mof:
To use the Monster MOF, simply replace your existing sms_def.mof file located at
SMS\INBOXES\CLIFILES.SRC\HINV on each site server. Compile the the Monster MOF on
each client required to report the MOF Class.
If you do not want a class in this file, comment the ENTIRE block of code for that
class with /* and */,or delete the entire block of code. Commenting is preferable
for classes that you *may* be interested in later. Some classes are disabled(commented)
because they are useful in some environments, but not commonly used. Feel free to
enable these classes if you feel they will be useful.
Using Individual moF Classes:
To use individual MOF Classes, simply copy the text in full and paste it to the
end of your existing sms_def.mof file located at SMS\INBOXES\CLIFILES.SRC\HINV on
each site server. Compile the the MOF Class on each client required to report the
MOF Class.
To properly delete unwanted SQL classes and their associated configuration we recommend
using
Site Sweeper.
